A plumber working on a residential hydro jetting job — mid-task, hands, tools and the work itself in sharp focus, the rest of the space softly out of focus

Overview

Grease, soap scum, mineral scale, and tree roots can coat the inside of your pipes until even a freshly cleared drain starts slowing down again. Hydro jetting sends a powerful stream of water through the line to wash that buildup away, restoring the pipe closer to its full width.

Before we jet, we'll make sure it's the right fix for your pipes. Older or damaged lines may need a different approach, and we'll tell you honestly if that's the case.

Symptoms

Signs you may need hydro jetting

Clogs keep coming back

If you've had the same drain cleared more than once and it keeps slowing down, buildup inside the pipe is a likely cause.

Several drains are slow

When sinks, tubs, and toilets are all draining poorly, the main line may be coated with years of buildup.

Gurgling or bad odors

Gurgling sounds and sewer smells can mean waste is sitting in the line instead of flowing out.

Tree roots in the line

Roots can work their way into sewer pipes through small cracks. Jetting can cut them back and flush them out.

Our process

What to expect

  1. Tell us what's happening

We'll ask which drains are affected, how long the problem has been going on, and what's been tried so far.

  2. Check the line

We'll look at the condition of your pipes to make sure hydro jetting is safe and will actually solve the problem.

  3. Jet the pipe

We'll run high-pressure water through the line to clear out buildup, debris, and roots.

  4. Test the flow

Once the line is clean, we'll run water through your drains to confirm everything is moving freely.

Scope

What hydro jetting covers

Hydro jetting is quoted after the affected drain and access point are evaluated. The condition of the line, the location of the restriction, and the work required to reach it affect the quote.

Hydro Jetting questions

Answers before you book.

More questions on our full FAQ page.

What is hydro jetting?

Hydro jetting uses a specialized hose and high-pressure water to clean buildup and obstructions from inside a drain line.

Is hydro jetting the same as ordinary drain snaking?

No. A drain snake is designed to break through or remove an obstruction. Hydro jetting uses pressurized water to clean material from more of the pipe interior.

When is hydro jetting considered?

It may be considered for recurring backups, persistent slow drainage, heavy buildup, or a drain that did not stay clear after a standard cleaning.

Can every drain line be hydro jetted?

The plumber should evaluate the drain line and its condition first. That inspection helps determine whether hydro jetting is suitable or whether another plumbing method is more appropriate.
